Australia is a country in the southern hemisphere as been inhabited for more than 42,000 years by Indigenous Australians.

The name "Australia" is derived from the Latin Australis, meaning "of the South".

Canberra is the Australian capital city and the country has a total of around 21 million people. It is the world's sixth largest country with a total land mass of 7,741,220km².
